The annual Christmas program at Ridgecrest Baptist cfegnch will be held Friday nigh; at S;3O o’clock. The program consists of music. reading, a Christmas story by Mrs. C. M. Brittain, a devo tional by Mrs.. W. M. Pate, and a grand exchange of gift*. The Rev and Mr*. C. M. Perry and children Sue. Ann Carr and William left Monday for New Port News. Virginia, where they will spend the holidays with Mrs. Perry's parent*. Mr and Mrs. George C. Chapair.. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gay and children, Lelano. CaroL and Elaine, are spending a few days with Mrs. Guy's mother, Mrs. J. W. Jackson, of Atlanta. Pat Moore. Trootvilie, Virginia, spent the week end with his sis ter Mrs. George Allred, returning home Tuesday. Friends of George Allred leans with regret that he is a patient at Western North Carolina Sar.i torium. Mrs. W. L. Hatcher was con fined to her room with influenza last week. The Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Johnson and their daughter Cordelia are visiting their daughter Mrs. C. V Strader in Greensboro. They will return home next week. The girls' basket bail team en joyed a Christmas party given by Alice Turner at the home of rer parent* Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Turner Monday night after the game with the Presbyterians played at the Black Mountain gym nasium. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Aiken were dinner guest* of their son and his wife, Mr and Mrs. Charles Aiken Sunday. Irvin Willis, Gardner-Webb col lege. Shelby; John May. Western North Carolina Teacher's college, Cullowhee; Bob May, Asheville- Biltmore college, Asheville, and Norman Harris. High Point col lege, High Point, are home for the Christmas holidays. Roy and Troy Lanning have ac cepted positions in Easley, South Carolina, and will be there for some time. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Biddix are spending the winter in Saluda where Mr. Biddix is located in his work with the Southern Railway company. Brookside News Miss Earleen Greenlee of Ridge crest was soloist at Mills Chapel church for the evening services December 19, 1946. Mills Chapel church was favored by 2 quartets in a “Battle of Song” when the Gospel Singers of Rutherfordton, N. C. and four hearts of Black Mountain sang for the benefit of the Negro pre school. ON WAY HOME Mrs. George Gudger will arrive Friday from Pasadena, Calif., where she has been visiting. En route home she stopped at Cedar Rapids and lowa City, lowa. CHRISTMAS HERE Mrs. Katherine Perley of Ashe ville will spend Christmas with her daughter and grandchildren, Mrs. Belle Hamilton, Alan, and Richard.
